You are developing yourself as an expert in your niche, and it’s an exciting time! As you hone your skills, you may be tempted to try to do more and expand your skillset. While that is admirable, it may not be the right next step for you. Instead, reaching out to others who are experts in a particular area may be the right path forward. Let me explain.

You Cannot Do It All

If you were to try to learn everything, several hours of your day would be devoted to reading articles and watching videos online to learn more about each part of the business. Again, that is commendable. But is it the best use of your time? This
learning phase
takes away from your overall goal to be a better expert in your chosen field. It takes away from coaching sessions with clients, for example, because you now have less time in your day to dedicate to them.

Are you moving toward your objective to be a top leader in your area? Likely not. Instead, you are spreading yourself thin, and that can lead to burnout over time. It may become such that you are exhausted and cannot do the core work that you are so passionate about. That means you are less likely to meet your objectives in the projected time as you’re
less efficient, which can increase stress and reduce feelings of self-fulfillment.

So, what is the solution?

Create a Network of Experts to Work With

The answer is to team up with others who are experts in particular fields, just as you are. While your specialty may be life coaching, for instance, you need a website and social media presence to reach more people to grow your client base.

That can involve working with a digital marketer who understands how to rank your website higher in search engine results and PPC strategies, which are areas that you have likely not researched in great detail as they are not your specialty. Choosing renowned teams like
can take your business to the next level by enhancing your online presence in ways that you would not be able to do with proficiency yourself, at least not without sacrificing your key services, which would detract from your career goals.

Other experts you might team up with are financial advisors, accountants, and project managers. The particular type of professional depends on several factors, including your industry and objectives. Word of mouth is a great way to grow a network of experts, asking those you trust who they suggest for you in different areas to grow your
startup
or more established company.

Recognizing What You Excel At, And Being Confident At It

Reaching out to others for help as you grow a network of experts is not meant to send the message that you are weak at certain tasks. Instead, it is meant to show that you can be more by teaming up with others. Stand confidently in what you do well and continue to shine in it!
